I put the Pi mark back on Pidex's isometric cube and worked through the variants the app actually needs: mono, inverse, stacked and icon treatments that hold up on the dark canvas.1

The Pi-on-cube mark and Newsreader wordmark from the branding pass.
It was a small identity pass, but it crossed more than one surface. The change included the app's mark component, the cube artwork and a brand demo board, rather than leaving the logo as a standalone image that the interface did not use.
Newsreader came in as bundled body type, with Georgia as the fallback. That gave the text side of the app a deliberate pairing with the geometric mark instead of trying to make the cube carry the whole identity.
Check the mark where it lives
The useful part of making a demo board was seeing the family together. A mark that reads well by itself still needs to survive as a small icon, an empty-state element and an inverse treatment.
The result is a set of usable pieces rather than one finished-looking logo. The cube, small mark and body type can now be checked together in the interface.
