OpenClaw 2026.9.33 is a gateway-only extended-stable release - the current equivalent to an LTS - and it is OpenClaw from the end of September plus critical security updates, reliability fixes and new model support. The newest release overall is still 2026.10.3. This one is for anyone staying on the 2026.9 line on purpose.
What changed for you
Updates finish now. pnpm 12 Gateway services and launchers survive native updates, retained updater runtimes no longer block npm recovery, and Windows updates no longer roll back after Doctor rechecks driver ancestry. Updates on this line keep state, plugin data, service ownership and Windows state paths intact too, and refuse an automatic restore over unattributed Doctor writes.
Work survives a Gateway restart. Interrupted automation turns, steered sessions, cloud worker claims and partial worker replies resume or persist instead of disappearing with the process.
One responsiveness fix is worth knowing on its own. A long streamed reply that starts with a reply tag such as [[reply_to_current]] used to re-parse the whole accumulated reply on every delta, which could keep the Gateway busy for tens of seconds. That re-parse is gone from the delta path.
New model support rides along - Meta Muse Wonder, MiniMax M3.1 thinking effort levels, and MiniMax portal OAuth that stays signed in past token expiry.
What to do
If you are on the 2026.9 line, take it. It is the usual in-place update path, and the update and repair fixes are the reason to stop putting upgrades off. If you are on this line to avoid feature churn, nothing here forces your hand - that is what the extended-stable channel is for. The full note is on the release page.
